Multi-objective optimization of cutting parameters for finishing end milling Hardox® 450

چکیده

Hardox® 450 is pre-hardened structural steel with high hardness and mechanical strength, designed to resist under abrasion wear, cracks, breakages. This material provides a longer service life for crushers, buckets, gears due its excellent properties, which result in low machinability. Moreover, the knowledge about machining this limited, justifying further investigation. Thus, study aims evaluate influence of cutting speed (vc), axial depth cut (ap), feed per tooth (fz) on forces surface finish during finishing end milling CVD-coated carbide tool. The experiment was planned analyzed through 3-factor, 3-level Box-Behnken Design. analysis variance showed that ap most significant parameter all response variables considered study. A multiobjective optimization carried out determine ideal levels parameters, considering lowest values static dynamic average total roughnesses. model suggests best results are achieved vc = 89 m/min, fz = 0.1 mm/tooth, ap = 0.212 mm. Even efficient results, predicted measured differed slightly (mainly tool wear).

Multi-objective optimization of laser milling parameters of micro-cavities for the manufacturing of DES

This paper presents a multi-objective optimization of the laser milling process of micro-cavities for the manufacturing of drug eluting stents (DES). The diameter, depth and volume error are considered to be optimized in function of the process parameters including laser intensity, pulse frequency and scanning speed. A set of designed experiments is carried out in a pulsed Nd:YAG laser system u...

Multi-objective process optimization for micro-end milling of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy

Micro-end milling is one of the promising methods for rapid fabrication of features with 3D complex shapes. However, controlling the micro-end milling process to obtain the desired results is much harder compared to that of macro-end milling due to the size effect and uncontrollable factors. The problem is much pronounced when workpiece material is a difficult-to-process material such as titani...
